FIRST FULL TIME ROUND WITH EREBUS IN THE BOOKS

Cooper Murray has completed his first race weekend with Erebus Motorsport as a full-time driver at Sydney Motorsport Park over the weekend.

On Friday, Murray had an up and down opening race of the season after starting P20 following a solo practice session and quick qualifying window.

Through lots of carnage, Murray showed good pace in his Chiko Chevy to move into P18 in the short sprint race.

For Saturday Night’s feature race, Murray struggled alongside team mate Le Brocq in qualifying to unlock the green tyre and started from P21 as a result.

Murray pushed hard in the race with battles from the start and advanced forward towards the Top Ten before being handed down a 15sec penalty which pushed him back down the order and he finished P17.

On Sunday unfortunately Murray struggled in qualifying again, with such a small amount of time making such a big difference in a tight field he began the final race of the weekend in P21.

Murray had a tough first stint in the #99 but a strong second stint but unfortunately was caught up in an incident and served another penalty as a result and finished P23.

Round 2 of the Supercars Championship will be held on March 13-16 at the Australian Grand Prix.
